My husband and I have contended for years that frum education in general needs to introduce hashkofa much earlier, and that boys’ education needs to include familiarity with ALL of Tanach. (Too often a frum wife knows more Tanach than her husband – with meforshim, too.) Hashkofa is taught at a four-year-old’s level for the whole of the school career, which creates unrealistic expectations and difficulties in dealing with nisyonos. The whole system needs a shakeup.
