Re teaching kindness: please pay careful attention to the behavior of teachers and school administrators. I have experienced thoughtless if not downright ugly interactions with a few Jewish school leaders and as a substitute teacher was appalled at some of what I saw from teachers regarding treatment of each other and of students. Just because a school touts “Jewish values” does not mean that the values “bein adam l’chaveiro” (mitzvot between man and man, as compared to those between man and God) are being modeled appropriately.
