One of the greatest teachers I ever had was in elementary school at the North Shore Hebrew Academy in Great Neck, N.Y. Her name then was Susan Lampert, today she is Susan Lieberman. She basically saved me from a very difficult class where I was teased and tormented for being different. I did not come from the same socioeconomic level as the extremely privileged children from Great Neck, I had different clothing and did not get to fly every school break to Puerto Rico or the Bahamas.
