Re. the Mikdash HaShlishi YVBV”A [Sefer Yechezkel, Chap. 40-43] that is prominent in our daily prayers:
Unfortunately, Navi Yechezkel’s description is difficult because it is in poetic prose.
RASHI’s detailed explanations — written before the invention of printing — contain many scribal errors and inconsistencies.
Over fifty years ago, my Father ZT”L (HaRav Dovid Rokach, a leading Chasidic Rebbe) recommended that I (entering the profession of structural engineering) make this my Avodas HaKodesh.
Based on the Sefarim “Tzuras HaBayis” I & II by HaRav Yom Tov Lipman HaLevi Heller (author of the “Tosafos Yom Tov”) and the summary of HaRav Moshe Ivier, I have been Zoche — with Siyata DiShmaya — to produce a detailed model of the Mikdash HaLishi, using professional engineering software:
With regard to the third beis hamikdash there is a sefer Mishkanei Elyon by the Ramchal – Which elaborates on the Nevua of Yechezkel on his vision of the third beis hamikdash – In addition there have been seforim that have elaborated on the mishkanei elyon – Particularly Otzar Bayis Hashlishi from R Menachem Mekaver – it also is full of 3d images – there is another one as well with pictures called Lishkenu Tidrishu – both seforim have very nice haskamas in the beginning of the sefer- I believe the same author (s) have books on the first and second batei hamikdash as well – while we dont have any real photos of the batei hamikdash nor do we have a real image of the 3rd beis hamikdash – these artists renderings based on the explanations of tanach/and chazal throughout the ages gives a good reference point for our imagination to understand the sugyas which discuss this- unishalma parim sifaseinu – hopefully through our learning and imagining of the prior batei hamikdash and our yearning /learning and daily prayers in lieu of the actual offerings the geulah will come very soon along with the third beis hamikdash –
