I believe the cemetery can be found at the intersection of Lincoln Drive and Joyce Street in Hometown, PA (depending on the map it may be in Tamaqua, PA).
In February each year my Mahanoy City scout troop would attend a service at a Church. One year in the seventies we went to the synagogue where they explained that our presence made it possible to have the service. They explained everything they were doing to us. great experience.
We went to the wrestling tournament in town for many years and spent time checking out the town while there . We checked out the open pit mine with the owners rep . Very interesting town , the cracker was once the world’s largest , Saint Nicholas.

Grateful for your writing this. With a family of four, I once represented a significant percentage of the Mahanoy City Jewish community.

I grew up in Mount Carmel Pa. It is about a half an hour’s drive from Mahanoy City, also part of the Coal Region. We too had many Jewish shops in town while I was growing up. Sadly, most of the owners retired and moved away years ago.
Very Interesting Article, Rabbi
Thanks for sharing.
My hometown of Pottsville in the same county had the same decline.
Thanks for your feedback.
Can you tell me where the cemetery is located?
