Jacob Israel de Haan was Dutch – he came from Holland and most of his original work was written in Dutch.

Beautifully and thoughtfully written. You have captured and expressed the moral struggle so many of us are facing. An issue which has sadly sown division even amongst our own brethren. I was hanging on the guidance for an answer at the end, which unfortunately was not there. Nevertheless, the way you framed the question was enough for me. Thank you for giving voice to those who have been shamed for even asking it.
