Should one follow a Rabbi who creates a chsllulel Hashem. Should such a Rabbi resign positions of importance or ask for public teshuvha.

Dave

What is the definition of a fallen Rabbi in this article?? The passuk says אין צדיק בארץ אשר לא יחטא, unfortunately, nobody is perfect, Moshe Rabbenu also sinned on his lofty level and Hashem said that he caused a chillul Hashem. Of course, some sins are more severe than others, some cause more chillul Hashem than others and hopefully everyone does teshuva swiftly after falling too. How can it be that we can only learn Torah from Rabbis who are like angels?

Of course its going to be “vague”. Its an answer to a question on an online article. Nevertheless, the answer rightly focuses on the seriousness of a Rabbi-a leader and influencer over peoples lives-committing sin. Because a Rabbi KNOWS BETTER, and he has accepted his position and he KNOWS not just what he teaches, but what he DOES will affect people’s lives. The details of any case would be examined and decided upon case by case, which one can’t do in an article. Shalom
