Didnt the fast of Asarah B’Teves predate the establishment of the fixed calendar? If so, shouldn’t we have a historical precedent about what the halacha is when Asarah B’Teves falls out on Shabbos and test the Abudraham’s theory?
Yes, the fast of 10 beTevet preceded the fixed calendar by many centuries. Unfortunately, we don’t have records (as far as I know) of if the fast ever actually fell on Shabbat (it likely did) or what they did in such a situation.
