OU Addresses Challenges Facing Working Women

This past June, more than sixty professional women attended the OU’s inaugural event of the Executive Leadership Network, which featured a lively and engaging panel discussion on the unique challenges facing Orthodox working women. The panel consisted of high-powered corporate women who manage to juggle the competing demands of career and family, including Shira Yoshor, Senior Partner at Baker Botts, an international law firm; Evelyn Stavsky, Managing Director and Global Head of Structured Lending at CitiGroup and Lori Lowenthal Marcus, Founder and President of Z Street and Executive Chair of the National Conference on Jewish Affairs (NCJA).

The Executive Leadership Network was created to form a high-level constituency which would respond to challenges in our community, to offer thoughtful presentations and to help Jewish professionals network and form meaningful connections.

“Engaging women leaders is a priority at the OU,” says Paul Glasser, OU Senior Director of Institutional Advancement. The panel discussion, held at Proskauer, a law firm in Midtown Manhattan, was organized by Rina Emerson, OU Assistant Director of Institutional Advancement, with the help of Tami Radinsky, Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, the world’s largest accounting and consulting firm, who also served as the panel moderator, and Dana Frenkel, Associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, LLP.

“We look forward to many more successful events and leadership participation from the ELN,” says Glasser.
