Addressing Divorce
In “The Orthodox Family of the 21st Century” (spring 2012), various challenged populations in the Jewish community were lumped together.

As someone who experienced divorce, I will address this particular challenge. The question of what causes the alarming rate of divorce and what can be done is valid. However, the contributing rabbis and professionals in the symposium, while having great exposure to those contemplating or undergoing divorce, gave wholesale explanations and solutions to a problem that is uniquely manifested in each individual couple.

Each troubled marriage has its own complex set of causes and possible solutions. While divorce is unfortunate, in many cases it is the best option for both parties and their children.
