Reading about the term “Half Shabbos” used to describe those who use their cell phones on Shabbat (summer 2012), made me think of another area where cell phones have made inroads into the observant community.
One morning last week, I counted six phones ringing during Shacharit. Those who, while davening, look to see who is calling on their cell phones, occasionally answer and send text messages could legitimately be called “Half Daveners.”
