Life Beyond New York

Your article “Rebuilding Oceanside in the Aftermath of Sandy” by Bayla Sheva Brenner (winter 2013) stated that “Oceanside stepped up to rebuild its shul.” That would indicate there is but one Orthodox shul in Oceanside, when in fact there are four, all of which suffered damage from Hurricane Sandy.

All of us share in the joy of the Young Israel of Oceanside, and are happy that it was able to mount a campaign enabling it to rebuild. However, other shuls with less resources have not been so fortunate.
